What do these three things have in common? The Evangenitals, that's what! We're all about unity, and boy have we got a trifecta for you this week....
First things first, we're doing another Sunday Matinee at the Coffee Gallery Backstage this weekend. These are intimate, sit-down, candlelit sonic experiences. An incredible atmosphere where we share songs and stories, both salty and sweet. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll find out our tasty secrets and shameful recipes. We let it all hang out, and it's all ages. Seating is limited, so call 626-798-6236 to make your reservations.
Sunday September 28th
Coffee Gallery Backstage
2029 Lake Avenue
Altadena, CA 91001
2pm. $15. All ages.
You can help us spread the word by RSVP'ing and sharing the event on Facebook and BandsInTown. (Heck, it's worth a visit to the Facebook event page just to see the hilarious pic of a Quaker Ari DeSano and me as a boxing nun.)
And what about Cardboard and Hip Hop??
We had a hoot making a new song for the Imagination Foundation's 2014 Global Cardboard Challenge! Featuring Joey Maramba on bass, Juli Crockett, Lisa Dee, and Diedra Randolph on vocals, with keyboards and mix-magic by Michael Feldman, we brought some serious fun and 70's Americana groove to a great cause. A follow-up of sorts to my theme song for the short film Caine's Arcade that inspired the Cardboard Challenge, this is their 3rd year celebrating creativity, cardboard, and kids. Listen and learn more here.
HIP HOP HOORAY!
You may have suspected that I have a soft spot for hip hop (as evidence by my throwing fierce rhymes in this 'ol Eagle and Talon collaboration) however, you may not know that I recently penned a hook for the Emmy Nominated rapper TONE-zwhich is on his new album "Fog of War" now available in stores. Listen here! I'm Track 3. :-)
